On the proposal of the Director-General of UNESCO, Ms Audrey Azoulay, Maestro Amine Kouider’s mandate as UNESCO Artist for Peace was renewed at the end of September 2024.
Committed to dialogue between cultures, Amine Kouider founded the International Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra-Paris in 1997, an ensemble bringing together professionals and amateurs of many nationalities, dedicated to promoting tolerance and peace through music. This project earned Amine Kouider and his ensemble the title of UNESCO Artists for Peace in 1999.
Amine Kouider’s commitment to UNESCO has resulted in numerous concerts in support of various campaigns for education, heritage and the major humanitarian causes supported by the Organisation.
The Orchestra has also been mobilised to celebrate the inclusion of new monuments on the World Heritage List and to take part in major events held at UNESCO headquarters.
